Former Things

Father, You make all things new. You do not look to the past and see who I was, but You see me now through the blood of Jesus and You use all things for Your glory and for my good. 

Help me not to look back on the former things, but to look forward to the new things You are doing in my life and with my life. Open my eyes to see the new. You are rich in mercy and abounding with steadfast love.  Thank you.

Hagar and the God Who Hears

Father, You are the God who hears. When I am used, hated and rejected by women, You hear. 

You comfort me when I hurt and when I am unable to provide for myself You always make a way. 

Thank You that You do not take sides but You fight for each one of us, just like You did Sarah and Hagar. You used each of them for the calling You had for them and You do the same for us. You use each of us to unravel Your beautiful story of redemption. 

Thank You that You hear me. 

Genesis 21

Lavished upon us

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. 

Father, thank you that You chose before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and blameless before You. Thank You for lavishing forgiveness & redemption upon me, making known the mystery of Your will according to Your purpose set forth in Christ. 

Thank You for the inheritance You have given me and for the Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of my inheritance.  

All my hope is in You. 

Ephesians 1

Armor of God

Father, thank you for the armor You have given me through the Holy Spirit. Teach me, Father, how to use these tools for Your glory and for my good. 

Help me to be strong in You and in the strength of Your might so that I may be able to stand against the schemes of my enemy. Help me to always remember that my struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces that seek destruction for me and those I love. 

Teach me to stand and fight. 

My desire is to stand for Your kingdom. 

Ephesians 6

Be Still

Father, You are my peace. Thank you that You are with me in the storms and You speak to the wind and the waves and You tell them to still. Thank You that you still my heart even if You don't stop the storm. 

Help me not to be afraid and filled with unbelief when I am walking through it. 

Father, I pray that You would open my eyes to see Your character and who You are in the middle of it all. Even the wind and the waves obey You. You are mighty and I am Yours.

Wisdom

Father, You are full of wisdom and good precepts. Thank You for teaching them to me through Your word. 

Help my heart to hold fast to Your words and keep Your commandments so that I may live a life pleasing to You. 

Proverbs 4

I will remember

Father, in the day of my trouble I will seek You. I will remember all of Your deeds and Your wonders of old. I will ponder Your work and meditate on Your ways. You are Holy and there is none like You. There is no other god before You. You work wonders and have made Your way known among the people. You have redeemed Your people. 

I will tell the next generation that they might know You. The children and children yet to be born, so that they we set their hope in You and not forget You, but keep Your commandments. That they will not be a rebellious generation whose heart is not steadfast or faithful to You. 

Thank You for redemption. Use me to proclaim how great and merciful You are.
