Overflow

Father, make me a woman who opens my mouth with wisdom and kindness. 

You teach me that wisdom begins with the fear of you and that kindness comes from the overflow of the fruit of the Spirit. None of it can come from me. Only from you. 

Let these things be the overflow of my relationship with you and not striving on my own. Thank you that you do this work in me. 

Draw me to dwell in you and be found in you so that my words come from the overflow of who I am in you.

Arguements

Father, you tell me in 2 Timothy to have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies because they only lead to arguments. 

Please teach me, your child, to not be full of arguments and defense. Help me to be kind, able to lead and teach, to patiently endure evil and to do any correcting with gentleness. All so that you may bring repentance and lead to a knowledge of truth. Lead me to your truth!

Father, enable me to do your will and not the will of my enemy in my interactions. Let my words only bring glory to you.

Words defile

Father, words are on my heart this week. Jesus told us that what comes out of the mouth comes from the depths of our hearts. And that is what defiles a person, my own heart. 

Out of my mouth comes evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, lies and slander. 

Father! Cleanse my heart!

Make me a woman after your own heart with words like your own words. I pray that your Holy Spirit would convict me as the words I speak show the evil in my heart. Give me a pure heart.

Wisdom

Father, you tell me that the fear of you is the beginning of knowledge and that fools despise wisdom and instruction. 

Help me to actively seek you in gaining wisdom and not just seek the wisdom of man. Help me to not be quick to discount instructions and wisdom, from your word or from people around me who have wisdom to share with me. 

Give me your wisdom, above all. Make me a woman who seeks and asks for wisdom from you.

Vision

Father, thank you for this promise almost from the very beginning of scripture, in the middle of so many laws, that you desire to be found by me. 

That I will find you as I search with all my heart. You hide yourself to be found on the pages of scripture and you delight in when I find glimpses of you. 

Let me be a woman who seeks to find you in every situation of my life and every passage of your word that I read. Your word is alive and your Holy Spirit brings new revelation in my understanding of you. 

Father, be thou my vision. My only lens to see the world through.

Set before

Father, you are my only hope. I have set the LORD always before me. Therefore, my heart is glad, my whole being rejoices and my flesh is secure.

Father, there are so many lessons in Proverbs that I can't wait to dig into. 

Your word tells me that those who act faithfully are your delight. I want to be your delight, Father. 

Help me to faithfully seek you and faithfully obey your word. Help me to act faithfully in every area of my life.
