Glory

Father, all you do is good. You have created all things to give yourself glory. Open my eyes to see your glory all around me.

Help me to live my life for your glory alone. Give me creativity from you and help me to walk boldly into the gifting you have placed upon me. Help me to always reflect your glory. Let your name be known in all the earth.

Take heart

Father, Paul walked a hard, hard road for the sake of the gospel.  As a prisoner, without blame, he used every hardship as an opportunity to preach the gospel of Christ. He held on to every word you have said, in confidence knowing that you would do what you said. Even when it looked impossible. He was an encouragement to the people around him in the storm and told them that even they would be spared because of what God promised to him.

Father, give me that kind of faith. To know what you have said and to believe it without a doubt. Help me to hold tight to your word. And help me to rest, in peace, in the sovereignty of your perfect plan even when I can't see through the waves and storm that surround me. Help me to hold tight to you. Knowing who you are is an anchor to me. Draw me into you to know you more as I wait this storm out. Thank you that you are in the waiting.

Weakness

Father, the weaknesses rise to the top quickly. It hurts. You tell me that your strength is made perfect in my weakness and that I should boast in it so that your power will rest on me.

Teach me to be like Paul. To plead with you for freedom, healing, deliverance, relief. But when you tell me to move forward in those weaknesses, help me to live in the promise of your strength being made perfect.

Help me to learn to boast in you and your strength and not what o can do for myself. Teach me to rest in your grace through my weakness.

Tears

Father, be gracious to me. The attacks come from all around me. All my plans are being stopped. When I am afraid I will trust in you. In you I trust and I have no fear for what can happen to me. Because your word is final.

Thank you that you know all I face, you know all my pain and you have seen every tear fall. I know they are important to you.

Thank you that you are for me. I can praise you. I trust in you, so I will not be afraid.

Fight

Jesus had just performed the miracle of five loaves and two fish. He had just given thanks, broken and gave provision to them. The disciples had just walked away with twelve baskets left over. Yet, just a few hours later, they felt far from Jesus and began to fear. Because their hearts were hardened, the truth of Jesus' miracle had not sunk deep into their hearts and taken root.

Father, I see this fear overtaking the disciples and I see it overtaking me. I see your miracles and experience them in my life and when I come out of the trouble times, your truths have not taken root. I fall into fear again. Their hearts were hardened, maybe because the work of the ministry was their normal. It grew old easily.

When Jesus appeared to them you told to take heart, do not be afraid. Because you were with them in that storm. Your provision surrounded them.

Father, thank you that you are with me always and you have given me the weapons to fight the fear. Help me to stand firm in who I am in you. Make my heart soft so that your truth can penetrate the depths of my heart and kill the fear.

Faithful

Father, when things go wrong or not how I expect or plan, I ask you why. I question your goodness and your blessing in my life. I become like Job and I state my defense. I tell you what I deserve.

Help me to run to you because you are God and in control of all things. Use the example of Ruth to write faithfulness on my heart. So that in hard times, even when you ask me to give up things or position or relationships, that I will trust you are keeping me on the path you have for me. That you will correct me when I go astray. That your plan is always perfect.

Thank you that you have a strong arm and you are able to hold me up.

Our good

Father, all throughout the book of Genesis we see the enemy making plans for evil, but you always turn the situations for good in the lives of the men and women who followed and obeyed you.

Thank you for this example of Joseph who was able to identify the enemy's schemes and he knew that God changed all the circumstances around.

Father, open my eyes to that too. So that I can know that the battle is not in the physical, and to know and rest in the fact that you are sovereign above all.

You always have your way.

Promise

Father, while this passage in Joshua was written to the Children of Israel, I can say it of my life as well.

Not. One. Word. Has failed, of all the good things that you have promised to me. There are too many to list. But as I walk in obedience to you, none of your words have failed.

Even in the storms and when the blessing isn't always a physical blessing. I know you are with me. You have never left me alone, without hope or without provision.

Help me daily to walk in obedience to you, to know the promises you have for me and to watch for you to fulfill them.

Thank you that you are faithful and your promises never return void.

Good news

Father, thank you for the book of Isaiah, where there is more prophecies of Jesus found, than in any other book of the Bible.

You also called Isaiah to preach the good news, to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, which I once was. And because I am a follower of Christ, you have called me to that very same thing.

Thank you that your Holy Spirit is in me to do these things.

Father, help me to walk boldly into the calling you have in my life. In every situation to bring the good news of the gospel of grace, to bind up broken hearts with your love and to proclaim freedom because you have taken away our yoke of slavery.

Let me be your hands and your feet. Let your words flow from my mouth and proclaim you alone.

Abide

Father, I have heard it all my life. Jesus love me. But the last few years my eyes have begun to see and my heart has begun to grasp the depth of your grace... there isn't a thing more I can do to gain your love. You love me. As I sat in a group of women I heard those words and began to weep. Such simple words.

I've always felt I had to do more, be more, be better. Be good.

But the thought came to me... Christ's love compels us. It should. But what if I'm not being compelled? Maybe I am not compelled because I haven't felt the depths of your love. Unconditional, unchanging, unfailing love. There is nothing I can do to change it. Father, why is that so hard to even say? I doubt and wonder how it is possible.

Father, write on my heart. Teach me how to fully abide in your love. To never leave living in your love and to stop the lies in their tracks.

Thank you that I while I was still a sinner you sent Jesus because you SO LOVED the world.

Thank you that I am called Beloved.

Generous

Father, you are able to make all grace abound to me so that I may abound in every good work. Thank you that it is your Holy Spirit at work in my heart when I desire to give generously.

Father, thank you that you promise me that when I give generously I will reap generously, but help me to remember that my reaping is not always in the physical, but so much of the time it is reaping in righteousness, which will endure forever.

Thank you that you provide all my needs which leads to thanksgiving, because this isn't about me. This is about you. Father, thank you that my response to the Gospel of Christ, your good news, will cause you to receive the glory.

Help me to plan well so that I can walk in obedience to your call to give. Cause me to excel in this grace.

Thank you for your inexpressible gift, which calls me to live a life of generosity.
