My Refuge

I bless you, Father, you are my rock, my steadfast love, my deliverer and my shield. It is in you that I take my refuge.

Help me to always run to you for refuge.

Success in our Undertakings

Father, in you I have success to fulfill what you have set before me because of the authority I have through you. Thank you for the example of David and how you set him apart and prepared him for the things you had for him to fulfill. Help me to remember that it is in you I have any success and help me not to believe that I can create it in myself, like Saul believed. Saul wanted your blessing without obedience but David was quick to obey. 

Give me a heart like David. Give me a heart after you.

Call to Repentance

Father, You are Holy. There is none beside You. 

Thank You that in Your mercy, You call me to repentance. Thank You that I am able to respond as You open my eyes to see my unrighteousness. 

I will call to You and You will answer me. 

Open my eyes that I may see. Cause me to always cry out to You for my salvation. 

I will take my delight in You, my LORD. 

Isaiah 58

Sarah and her Calling

Father, You are faithful and You always keep Your word. Thank You for Your example of Sarah and how You protected her and fought for the calling You placed on her life. 

Over and over we see Abraham giving over to fear of man by giving his wife away to other kings or even giving her own role over to another woman. But every time, You came to the rescue. You spoke and saved her. 

You gave Sarai a new name and told her husband that she alone would be the mother of a great nation. 

You chose her. 

You also choose us. You place callings on our lives and we allow our enemy to take those callings away or even give them away ourselves because we don't understand what You are doing. 

Help me to stop giving my callings away because of my fear. Help me to recognize when my enemy is trying to steal from me and help me to stand firm in what You have told me and to wait for You to rescue me without making my own way out. 

Thank You for being faithful.

Former Things

Father, You make all things new. You do not look to the past and see who I was, but You see me now through the blood of Jesus and You use all things for Your glory and for my good. 

Help me not to look back on the former things, but to look forward to the new things You are doing in my life and with my life. Open my eyes to see the new. You are rich in mercy and abounding with steadfast love.  Thank you. 

Isaiah 43

Hagar and the God Who Hears

Father, You are the God who hears. When I am used, hated and rejected by women, You hear. 

You comfort me when I hurt and when I am unable to provide for myself You always make a way. 

Thank You that You do not take sides but You fight for each one of us, just like You did Sarah and Hagar. You used each of them for the calling You had for them and You do the same for us. You use each of us to unravel Your beautiful story of redemption. 

Thank You that You hear me.

Lavished upon us

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. 

Father, thank you that You chose before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and blameless before You. Thank You for lavishing forgiveness & redemption upon me, making known the mystery of Your will according to Your purpose set forth in Christ. 

Thank You for the inheritance You have given me and for the Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of my inheritance.
